Simon Lee
Chairman

Simon is Chairman of STG having founded the company and served as its CEO until its NASDAQ listing in November 2015.

Simon founded STG as the Software Technology Group in 1986 to address the growing demand for high quality, assured enterprise-level information technology support. By 1993, the company had gained its first large Federal Government contract working with the US Department of State to develop the software underpinning a global visa tracking system. By the mid-90s, STG had expanded its market presence across a number of civilian and national security-related government agencies, providing support in information assurance, communications and systems integration. Since then, Simon has worked with his team to grow STG to its current position as a leading provider of critical, technology-driven solutions to over 50 US Federal Agencies, deeply embedded with proven performance on several large contract vehicles, and operating to high levels of contract diversity.

He emigrated to the United States from South Korea in 1979 and began his career as an engineer, holding a number of senior technical positions in technology companies in the Washington DC area. Simon has received numerous awards in recognition of his services to industry and the community. In 2014, he was the first Korean-American to receive the George Washington University President’s Medal, and was the recipient of a US Department of Commerce Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007 for his advancement of minority businesses.

He holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from Korea University, and an MS in Systems Engineering from George Washington University.
